Chile in October Challenge takes on new form with passport cards

This year’s Chile in October Challenge in Farmington will look a little different.

To avoid hosting a large gathering, community members are asked to visit individual businesses to sample chile and get their chile passports signed. Sampling will take place Oct. 14 to Oct. 24.

These businesses will participate:

Main St., (505) 325-5556, 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday: “Boon’s Sweet and Spicy Chamber Chile.”Chile Pod, 121 W. Murray Drive, (505) 333-4892, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday: “Chef’s Choice Chile.”Participants must visit at least five entries on the passport card in order to vote for “People’s Choice.” Those who visit all 10 businesses will be entered into a prize drawing.

Ballots must be turned in by 4 p.m. Oct. 28 to any participating business or to the Farmington Chamber of Commerce Office in the Quality Center for Business at San Juan College, 5101 College Blvd.
