The Iron Horse cyclists should not have to battle the elements except for some afternoon breezes, according to a forecast from Travis Booth, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Grand Junction.
Pleasant weather with partly cloudy skies should last through the Memorial Day weekend, he said.
Booth is not forecasting any precipitation. The temperatures will be about 5 to 10 degrees higher than usual, reaching upper 70s to 80s in Durango.
Silverton will be a little bit cooler with highs in the 60s.
Wind will blow from the southwest to the northeast from late morning to late afternoon.
