La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, Durango Fire Department and city of Durango will host a bike rodeo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Riverview Elementary School, 2900 Mesa Ave.

Participants will learn about bicycle safety, find out more about local trails, take advantage of free DPD bicycle registration, get a helmet inspected and receive a bicycle safety check.

Event sponsors include Durango Bike Patrol, Mercy’s Gray Matters Helmet Program, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Durango Trails and Animas Cycles.
