The Durango Natural Foods Co-op board of directors has named Brian Gaddy as general manager of the store at College Drive and East Eighth Avenue.

Gaddy until recently was co-general manager.

Gaddy, a 2000 graduate of Fort Lewis College with a degree in philosophy, has worked at the co-op since February 2013. He worked earlier for Dancing Willow Herbs and eight years at Nature’s Oasis.

He said Thursday he’s been too busy at the store and dealing with “fringe drama” involving the co-op to consider long-range plans.

By drama, Gaddy was referring to efforts by cooperative members to dismiss the entire board over recent efforts to merge DNF with La Montanita food co-op based in Albuquerque.

The merger efforts have apparently ended.
