In celebration of World Belly Dance Day, five free outdoor performances by Durango Shimmy Mob, a group of local belly dancers, will be held Saturday, May 13, to raise funds and spread awareness for Alternative Horizons.

The team will dance at these times and locations:

11 a.m., Durango Farmers Market, in the parking lot of First National Bank of Durango, 259 W. Ninth St.Noon, Father Daughter Pizza, 600 Main Ave.1 p.m., Main Mall, 835 Main Ave.2 p.m., Smiley Building, 1309 East Third Ave.3 p.m., Durango Dance, 1120 Main Ave.World Belly Dance Day is held in support of domestic violence programs. Belly dancers around the world will perform the same choreography on the same day.
