The 20th annual Sheep Days celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at a sheep camp east of Engineer Pass on Alpine Loop, north of Silverton.

Sheep herders will open the camp to visitors and allow people to meet sheep dogs, ask questions and learn about sheep operations. Sheep herds are permitted by the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management to graze during the summer. Sheep are guarded by dogs and moved by herders who camp all summer with the animals.

The event is free and open to all. Vehicles with four-wheel drive are required to reach the camp.
