The True West Rodeo will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
Chevel Shepherd will sing the National Anthem during the opening ceremony. Events will take place every Wednesday through Aug. 7.
Watch dedicated athletes race to beat times, wrestle steers and outlast the clock. This year will consist of nine rodeos. True West Rodeo honors Durango’s Western roots with broncs, bulls and Wild West entertainment. True West Rodeo is sponsored by Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and TBK Bank.
Tickets may be purchased at the door or online at bit.ly/2MehLx7. Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for youths, seniors and military veterans, and children 4 and younger are free. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 6:30 p.m.
