The city of Durango has contracted with Horizon Environmental Services for noxious weed abatement.

The herbicides that will be used are SureguardSC and Pendulum 3.3 EC. Applications are conducted to improve the quality of the rights of way, parks and open spaces in the city’s system. The weed control is repeatedly tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency and Horizon Environmental Services is licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

Treatment on the Riverview baseball infields and the bull pens at the Durango Softball Complex will occur Thursday. Follow-up spot spraying at the treated areas will continue through November.

The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
